About the Victory Gnome
This Victory Gnome is standing with his right arm stretched in front of him making the V sign. German artist Ottmar Hörl created this pink gnome sculpture in 2012. He came up with this gnome as a response to the regular riots instigated by hooligans after the football games. The Victory Gnome pictures a communicative impulse as well as a supporters’ trophy for peaceful interaction. All our V-sign gnomes come with a Hörl Certificate of Authentification engraved at the bottom.

About the Victory sign
The Victory sign has two formats: one with the palm faced outwards and another one with the palm inwards. Generally considered a “Victory” sign, it can also involve meanings of “Defiance.” The V-sign has various interpretations, depending on the cultural context. For instance, in the US, both ways refer to “Victory” and peace. In other places, the same gesture with the back of the hand facing the other person is highly disrespectful. This Victory Gnome reminds us to be humble even in the face of victory and show forgiveness towards those who have lost.
