About the Black Cow “All you need is Pop.”
Artist Bob Marongiu created “All you need is Pop” black cow for Cow Parade Milan, Italy in 2003. The sculpture is a caricature of the Beatles the Abbey Road album cover made on a life-size standing cow. The black cow with white stripes on its back represents the road and the crosswalk, and, Marongiu added four of his emblematic characters smiling and walking the crosswalk. The black cow “All you need is Pop” is part of the Museum Edition of CowParade Original collectibles. The Beatles figurine not only comes with a Certificate of Authenticity but also in a brand new packaging for collectors. The statue is suitable for indoor use only. About the CowParade Milan
CowParade is an international public art exhibit that travels to many world cities. Milan hosted the herds of decorated cows during Summer 2007. Well-known artists and amateurs painted the cows, and even famous names of Italian fashion industry participated. Sponsors like Microsoft, Beck’s, Fratelli Rossetti, ATM and Vogue adopted cows. At the end of the exhibition, the cows were up for live auction and then for online auction. By the end of 2007, almost one million euros were raised for charity and given to Champions for Children ONLUS.
About the cow shapes
Knapp is the Swiss-born sculptor who shaped the CowParade cows specifically for the event. The cows come in three shapes used in all CowParade exhibits: cow standing, cow grazing, and cow reclining and weigh approximately 100 pounds each. Nowadays, CowParade “line of figurines belongs to top figurine collectibles in the world. There are over 500 statues grouped in four collection lines:
