About Seletti Wears Toiletpaper Rug Fingers (Rectangular)
Part of the Italian home-decor brand Seletti comes to an exclusive collaboration with contemporary Italian surrealist photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari and artist Maurizio Cattelan’s Toiletpaper magazine. This Fingers rectangular rug is part of Seletti’s exclusive Seletti Wears Toiletpaper collection, and it measures 76.37″ x 110.23″ inches (194 x 280 cm). Maurizio Catellan comments on the relationship between ToiletPaper and Seletti, “right from the start we liked the idea that ToiletPaper was a label that could be applied to a broad series of objects…Pierpaolo and I are like sadistic scientists: everything that’s around us can be infected by the TP virus, we continually test different samples, and we analyze the results so that Toiletpaper can become a style, and not just a photographic one…Just like ToiletPaper’s images, the collection designed with Seletti has a vintage charm; the tin mugs and plates look like they were just taken out from a fifties’ kitchen pantry, the oilcloths from the drawers of a suburban inn.” More details on Seletti Wears Toiletpaper Rug Fingers (rectangular):

About Maurizio Cattelan
Maurizio Cattelan is an Italian artist who, although ostensibly ‘retired’, has most recently contributed a piece to the Guggenheim museum. His playful, roguish nature dovetails perfectly in this contemporary art scene and he has made a name for himself by not only impishly poking fun at institutions and expectations but also providing a coherent and interesting commentary on society at the same time. When he was 20 years old, in 1980, he started his career making wooden furniture in Forli, Italy, where he came to meet and develop relationships with certain designers. With his connections and drive to create more than just furniture, he made a catalog of his work which he sent to galleries around Italy. Cattelan’s idiosyncratic, eccentric style has won hearts over worldwide due to its blend of commentary, insight and playful humor.
