This gnome is part of the trilogy the Bearers of Secrets: See nothing, Hear nothing, Say nothing”. German sculptor Ottmar Hörl created this good-looking gnome in 2006 for an art event in Germany. It represents a cute bearded gnome with both hands covering his eyes. The See No Evil gnome body language illustrates the See Nothing part of the trilogy. Initially edited only in black, yellow and red for its original exhibit, this See No evil gnome now exists multiple shades. About the trilogy

To Hörl, the comparative political idea, which may be interpreted individually, represents art that provokes discussion and doesn’t try to hide in the protected atmosphere of a museum. The sculptor designed his gnomes See Nothing,”, Hear Nothing,” Say Nothing” in the three different poses and respectively covering their eyes, ears, and mouth. At that time, the parade of 1,200 gnomes laid out in rows and columns created some hot debates.

Ottmar Hörl exhibited his Bearers of Secrets Gnomes at the Art Fair Art Karlsruhe in 2006. He designed a good-looking gnome in three different poses “see nothing – hear nothing – say nothing”  especially for the art fair.

Ottmar Hörl’s work is famous for its installations which take place in various outdoor and public places. Professor Hörl spoke of a gentle provocation” particularly in the City of Justice, notably with his multi-colored gnomes. He is a renowned sculptor artist as well as a writer, and he has led the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg since 2005.
