About Rose Beuret bust
In this portrait, Rodin celebrates the association with this charming interpretation of Rose Beuret wearing a straw hat. The high-end reproduction is colored after the terracotta clay Rodin used for his original. The statue nicely stands on an elegant white pedestal which gives the terracotta much more brightness. The carving details of her hat, hair and outfit are remarkable and contrast with the sweetness of Rose Beuret face. The piece is an official high-end reproduction made of resin and hand painted colored details. The statue is perfect for any bookshelf or on a desktop or to be placed on a console. Auguste Rodin and Rose Beuret
In 1864, Auguste Rodin met a seamstress named Rose Beuret. She became his lifetime companion and modeled for many of his works. The couple had a son, Auguste-Eugène Beuret (1866-1934). Rose was a lifelong stable factor in the background for Rodin. She was not part of his social life though and had to put up with a lot. She regularly modeled for Rodin as in this subtle portrait which becomes even more fascinating when you keep in mind the later role she played in Rodin’s life. Fifty-three years into their relationship, Rodin married Beuret in the last year of both their lives (1917). She died two weeks after the wedding.
