About PO: – Mondrian Ring Carafe – Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow (1930)
The design on this elegant Mondrian Ring Carafe is inspired in the work of the 20th century Dutch artist Piet Mondrian Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow (1930), and it is part of PO:’s Ring collection enabling good griping for transportation. The Dutch artist Piet Mondrian is known as one of the most influential artists and theoreticians of the 20th century due to his co-founding of “De Stijl” movement with Theo van Doesburg and is credited as one of the pioneers of abstract art. The aesthetic pursuits of De Stijl are often referred to as Neoplasticism, which consisted in a nonrepresentational “new plastic art” where depicting the essential universal beauty was the ultimate goal. To achieve this, Mondrian limited his selection of colors to the primary colors (Blue, Yellow, Red); his selection of values to three primary values (Black, Grey and White) and to three primary directional arrangements (Vertical, diagonal and Horizontal).
