About the green gnome
This green gnome sculpture is an original creation of Ottmar Hörl in 2012. It portraits a dwarf making the V sign with his right arm stretched in front of him. The artist came up with this green gnome as a response to the regular riots instigated by football hooligans after the games. The green Gnome represents a communicative impulse as well as a supporters’ trophy for peaceful interaction. All our gnomes come with a Hörl Certificate of Authentification engraved at the bottom of its left foot.

About the Victory sign symbol
The V sign has different hand gestures: one with the palm faced outwards and another one with the palm inwards. The V-sign has various interpretations, depending on the cultural context. In the UK, the gesture with the back of the hand facing the other person is highly uncivil. Considered a V sign, it can also involve meanings of Defiance.” On the contrary, in the US, it refers to Victory”. Additionally, in most of the East Asian countries, the V sign is a famous pose in photographs. The gesture mainly implies a feeling of happiness whether using it palm facing outward or palm facing forward. In other cases, the sign just means “two,” such as when ordering.
