The design uses a pattern by the Eames’, developed, but not produced in connection with a textile competition at the MoMA (NYC) in 1947. In the year 2000, the Dot Pattern was created for the first time by the Eames Office in conjunction with Maharam, the textile manufacturer. This designer card case from Eames Office is trendy and lightweight while keeping your business cards in perfect condition. The card case’s design is etched into the mirror chrome finished metal. The outside front shows the black small dot print by Ray. Black lacquer is hand applied in the etched parts of the design. The designer card case comes in a black box with a black sleeve. This metal card case is approved and certified by the Eames Office whose role is to communicate, preserve, and extend the work of Charles and Ray Eames.

About the design
Ray Eames designed the Dot Pattern in 1947 for a printed textile exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The pattern is a set of dots and crosses and references to Charles Eames abstract paintings from the 1930s. Since then, the Eames Dot Pattern has been made into upholstery, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, purses, business card cases and more. Of course, our Dot design is engraved into the lid chrome finished metal and black lacquer is hand applied in the etched parts of the design. Needless to say, the sleek designer card case comes with a black box and sleeves.
