About “Glory” brooch

About the Artist
Frida Kahlo experienced a life of health problems, firstly she was stricken with polio at the age of 6 and then she was severely injured in a bus accident at the age of 18. she began painting during her accident recovery and achieved her first self-portrait the year after. The isolation had a creative impact on her art and self-portraits. She also had to face with a stormy relationship with her husband the Mexican artist Diego Rivera. Kahlo never considered herself a Surrealist but her bulk of artworks was often associated with art movements, such as Primitivism and Surrealism.
